UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS

Hebrews 1:14 the Bible says, Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? The Bible here is talking about angels. In a simple form, angels are to minister to all born again Christians or all believers that inherited salvation. Angels are not just there to guide or fight for believers, but to actively minister on their behalf. This means believers have the authority to communicate with and command angels for their benefit.

God prophetically and strategically placed ministering spirits or angels in our lives but our ignorance of them is costing us. The more we have the word of God in our lives, the more angels are revealed to us. Angels are attracted to agendas and do not appear without a purpose. They are not there to satisfy curiosity but to deliver a message or assignment. It is important to understand that revelation comes from the word of God. Hence the Bible says secrete things belong to the Lord but that which is revealed belongs to our generation and us forever.

The word discusses the existence of angels before the creation of heaven and earth, as mentioned in the Bible on Job 38, says angels clapped with joy at the creation of heaven and earth, appreciating the beauty that God had created. There are three concept of realms – the realm of God, the realm of angels, and the realm of men. The realm of God called the realm of eternity because God has no beginning or end.  The second one, which is the realm of angles, is everlasting because they have the beginning but do not have the end. The third one is the realm of men called the realm of time because time controls everything in our realm. Nothing leaves the realm of men and goes to the realm of God without passing the realm of angels.

When we discuss the concept of spiritual warfare, this is where angels are fighting on behalf of individuals. For example, in the book of Daniel 10, where he fasted and prayed for 21 days. On the first day when Daniel prayed God answered his prayer but despite his prayers, an angel, angel Gabriel who was carrying his answer could not come down with his answer, because the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood the angel. In this scripture, the enemy was not fighting the angel but was fighting against Daniel to receive his answer. As Daniel continued to pray he was in a spiritual warfare yet his not the one physically fighting. Angel Gabriel had to call another angel, which is angel Michael to fight the principality. At the end, the angels were able to win against the principalities and came down with Daniel’s answer. Notice that as Daniel kept on praying when he did not see an answer, the angels were fighting on his behalf to bring down his prayer request; God is so big He cannot leave his thrown to bring an answer or protect you.

God has a system, which is the ministry of angels. Therefore, when one says God protects them, it means His angels protects you. Angels play a very important role in one’s life. In the book of Genesis when God drove out Adam and Eve in the garden, God had placed an angel called Cherub at the gate of the Garden of Eden, to protect it from Adam, Eve and Satan. The reason why God had to put Cherub is because Satan himself was a Cherub and in the realm of the spirit, a rank fights a rank. You cannot have Seraphim fighting Cherub especially in the realm of men.

Throughout the Bible, we see many had encounters with angels. Just like in the days of Joshua, when the children of Israel were losing a battle, the Lord sent an angel to fight by their side and help them win. In the book of Hebrews, 12:22 says, but you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, meaning spiritually where one is, is under an atmosphere of angels. Be careful of being more conscious of unholy spirits or demonic entities than the ministry of angels. As children of God, we have countless of angels watching over us.

Believers have legal rights to ministering angels sent by God to help and guide them in times of need. Angels are obedient and move when they are commanded, dispatched, and assigned. In the Bible, angels played a significant role in Jesus’ life, including rolling away the stone from his tomb and ministering to him, they strengthened him when he died and Jesus embraced the ministry of angels.  As children of God, believers should embrace the ministry of angels in their lives.

This message emphasizes the significance of angels in one’s spiritual journey, highlighting their role as guardian angel assigned by God. By cultivating a strong connection to the Lord, one can tap into the unstoppable power and protection provided by their guardian angel throughout their life and even in death. This message should inspire a deeper walk with God and a greater awareness of the presence and guidance of angels in one’s life.

Angels are always present around us, capable of healing, guiding, and revealing important messages in our lives. According to Mathew 18:10 Jesus acknowledges angels saying “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven”. Meaning that one has a guardian angel. The word discusses the role of angels in the Bible, using the example of Peter when he was in prison, God released an angel to release Peter from prison. The word emphasizes the importance of the ministry of angels in our lives, as well as the belief that each person has a guardian angel who resembles them. In the Bible Peter knocks at the door and a young girl hears him, she goes to the prayer meeting, and says Peter is knocking at the door, but the church said it is not him but that must be his angel. This shows they knew Peter’s angel.

Just as seen in the Bible in Revelation 1:1 says, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servant’s things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: John here was talking to an angel of Jesus. This shows that we all have guardian angels. In Revelation 19:9-10, John is initially confused and mistakes an angel for Jesus, leading him to bow down before the angel. This passage highlights the important role that angels play in individuals’ lives.

Here are some different types of angels

  1. Seraphim – Seraphim angels are celestial beings that are closest to God. They serve as a throne guardian of God. Seraphim angels focus on praising and worshiping God for who He is and they spend of their time directly in God’s presence in heaven.
  2. Cherub – Each of the Cherubim has four faces: One face was that of a cherub, the second the face of a human being, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.” (Ezekiel 10:14)
  3. Thrones – Thrones angels are the third ranking order of angels. Thrones join angels from the first two ranks, the seraphim, and the cherubim, on God’s council of angels in heaven. They are very knowledgeable.
  4. Dominion – Dominion angels are to deliver God’s justice into unjust situations, showing mercy toward human beings.
  5. Powers – are angels of the second sphere. They battle evil forces and can prevent evil from causing harm. These are warriors, and their role is to ward off evil spirits, and to capture and chain them.
  6. Virtues – are angels of miracles.
  7. Principality – A principality angel is an angel of the third hierarchy of the known order of angels: principalities, archangels, and angels. They have authority, power, and influence over humanity. Principalities angels are primarily concerned with the protection of nations and cities.
